Does anybody know what the reported attendance figure was?

None of the usual sources (BBC, PL website, Albion website) give the figure, as far as I can see.

Thanks. I couldn´t find it anywhere.

Watching on TV there were a lot of empty seats. More like under 30,000 actually there though. :(
Don't forget that the Albion include all season ticket holders as being present, eve n if they are not. That's why they always announce "the official attendance" rather than the actual attendance. The most accurate way of calculating attendance is by counting the number of "clicks" through the turnstiles

Yes - what counts as an attendance these days?

Bums on seats? In which case don’t count the empty seats that have been sold, even season ticket holders.
Tickets sold? Which could be higher than capacity when resale tickets are counted, though that can be adjusted accordingly.
Seats sold? But that could then include empty seats too.

I agree that turnstile clicks is the only fair measure, but I doubt it’s used much these days.

I don't think any clubs let anyone see the turnstile clicks, not good for the negotiations with sponsors/advertisers

You need to remember that the "attendance figure" reported by the club is NOT those "in attendence" ie physically present but the number of tickets actually sold.

I don't know why; not sure it has ever been explained.

ETA read replies since I posted. If they don't want rivals to know our "turnstile clicks" as suggested than just announce "Tickets sold" rather than "Attendance". At least then the English language is being used correctly!

WHU used to. I was at a game as a guest in hospitality years ago and enjoyed watching the turnstile clicks on the screen pre match

For Premier League matches, 'attendance' is number of unique seats sold.
