BHA have one final chance to win the title, if we match Newcastle's result at home to Barnsley, or win at Aston Villa. The Seagulls had similar chances against Norwich & Bristol City, but as we all know have played like a team at the wrong end of the table over these games. Let's hope that the manager & players are up for it next weekend. If we are to win the title it will now be the hard option. Wins against Villa for us are rare. Indeed we have only beaten them 3 times in our history. Drawn 6 times & lost 11 games. One has to go back to 1980 for our last victory, a 1-0 home win in the top flight. We have never won at Villa Park & our past 5 meetings at their place have all ended in defeat.
Villa have only lost at home this season to Reading, Barnsley, Ipswich (same number of home defeats as us), so will not be any pushovers. Despite our last 2 defeats, BHA are 5th in the league (last 6 matches) with 12 points & Villa 15th (7 points). Surely now is our best hope for that elusive win in Birmingham?
