The truly sad element to Villa's seemingly complete capitulation this year is that none of the blame is likely to fall at Tim Sherwood's feet, possibly paving the way for him to get back into management at a decent level. A true tragedy I think most would agree.

Think we dodged a bullet there with his determination that he was better than the championship

The rot set in long before Tim Gilet set foot in Villa Park
No disagreements here but he did buy a fair bit of dross whilst there.

Regardless, I'm sure he'll reappear in the next month or two banging on about passion, belief and how good he was at Spurs. Again.

Good coach but you dont let him near the finances and final say who he buys . looks capable of working with younger players hungry ,rather than seasoned pro's

Has there ever been a club that has no obviously just given up this early before?

January transfer window? Nah, we'e OK with what we've got.

Oh, I can think of one

Might not be in relegation danger, but they seem to have given up quite willingly on their- chuckle- European dream

In a dream world they would get Ron Atkinson in to oversee the relegation process.

After the Villa match in 1972, there was segregation introduced at the Goldstone for the first time. Trouble on the east terrace by Villa fans after Willie Irvine scored. Handbags. And it was an all ticket game.

Villa had gone 3 league matches unbeaten and had started the better side vs West Ham tonight, they lose a good shout for a penalty, then their guy smashes an arm into the face of Cresswell in the first 20 mins and gets red-carded. You got to feel sorry for Remi Garde.

Villa looked poor. But so did Norwich last night on MOD highlights. Sunderland looked a Big Sam team for the first time. Much improved.

Several time recently the importance of having a quick covering central defender was very apparent, mainly because of Vardy. Shows the value of a striker with pace as well.
