Of course I don't know, but he would be an absolute prime candidate for a state sponsored setup and discrediting.

Which appears to be his "defence".......................one which anyone who has ever been to Sweden and knows anything of their culture would laugh openly at. I really am beginning to think that he has something to hide. He needs, in the words made famous by Jeremy Kyle, to "grow a pair"*

* seemed an appropriate phrase in the circumstances

If he was being threatened with extradition to some mickey mouse third world country then I could understand it.

But Sweden? Shirley he's going to get fairly treated there, and a fair trial if it goes that far?

Do you truly believe that?

What else might happen when he's in Sweden? Another extradition maybe......?

assange = CIA asset. appeases most people by drip feeding information the elite know people already know.

pretty clever, and most fall for it.

Whether he can be extradited from Sweden I don't know. If once they have interviewed him if there is no further action presumably he would be free to return to UK.

But even if Sweden did want to extradite him, my point stands. Unlike some others, Sweden is a fair country, he would get a fair hearing.

If he wants to avoid extradition then he needs to apply for asylum in a country that has no extradition treaty, which is presumably what he has done.

But without prejudging in any way, why would he do that if he was innocent? If it was me and I was innocent I'd take my chances in Sweden, after all, they only want to interview him. They may or may not charge him.

If he runs off to a safe haven then it seems to me that he will lose credibility. He's made a business out of exposing the truth (supposedly). How does that square with him trying to duck and dive?

We seem to be very efficient at extraditing people to the USA on request ourselves without any need for convoluted journeys via third countries who are traditionally neutral in such squabbles.

Don't think that one holds water

The Swedish authorities want to talk to Assange, there is no charge yet. Once in Sweden he would be locked up and heavily restricted. In the latest rulings it was made clear that any extradition to the US from Sweden would have to involve the UK as well. But we all know that is bs and the US do what they want. So if there is no substance in what I say why was it even brought up in his extradition appeal to Sweden? Pretty pointless unless it was on the agenda. And it will be

this. there aren't even any charged raise in the US, just the imagination that there might be.

he's just a self publicist. he could be exploring options he could take with European courts, instead he's grandstanding by seeking asylum in an embassy.

hmmmm, though I did think that most of the wikilieaks revelations fell into the "No shit sherlock category"

exactamondo.

the key to assange being a CIA asset is this, when he reveals something (that we already pretty much know) the whole world wide main stream media release it on the same day with exactly the same prose. this takes alot of logistics at a high level and is billions to one odds of being coincidence or by chance - or just occurring that way.

the whole wikileaks is just theatre, it they really want a site closed, they close it......piratebay is kept open (just) because soon they want to bring in internet passports.

? nobody can release stories world wide in ALL the main stream media without some help. Certainly not a self publicist.

it is not set in stone 100% he is CIA, one needs to look into it for themself, but research shows it is all a bit stinky stinky, for me i think he is CIA.

Neither here nor there
He comes across as quite a creepy, obnoxious character who cares more about his own place in the news agenda than throwing light on things we should be told. Is that a fair assessment? Possibly not. But running away from Swedish justice doesn't seem to me like the act of a fearless campaigner for truth and transparency.

It's not that hard. A small team of press officers could manage it pretty easily. Journalists are inhernently lazy. I regularly contribute prose to press notices which are then regurgitated by the press.
