Not foolish at all compared to people thinking their aspiration is avoiding going into the 4th Division.

It's normal to aspire in an upwardly direction and as you correctly point out, the games in hand is the key to what is realistic. Win our next one and we can look up positively, win our next 3 and we can be serious play off contenders and pretty much forget aboout relegation.

Lose our next 3 and it's another story. Let's take one game at a time and see what happens. Whatever happens let's support the team :albion2:
When did we last win 3 games on the spin?

We're averaging about 4 points from 3 games, which means we're likely to be 5 points off the playoffs and 11 from relegation when we've played those games. I really don't think we're going anywhere, so that's why I hope to see Wilkins experimenting with the side once 52 points has been reached.

We need a top half of the table finish, preferably at least a dalliance with the play-offs at some stage.

The crowds are getting smaller and without a reasonable crowd of 6,500 plus every week we have little chance of promotion. If fans have to continue watching a 'creative midfield' of Thomson and El-Abd and endure the frustration of Hart and Mayo being the subs brought on we'll soon be under 5,000 on a regular basis.

I suspect Wilkin's brief will be to secure our League 1 spot for next season, which means cautious football. We'll stay up, but it might mean we only have a handful of meaningless matches in the Spring to really experiment.

we still do have an outside chance of play offs but we should just get as many points as we can:albion2:

The season's already over. We're just fulfilling the fixtures from here on in. Can't think of a single damn thing by way of aspirations. Oh well, see you next Tuesday.

Personally I would like to be in with a shout of the playoffs with the last game being at home to Swansea.

Us needing to win and them to win to be Champions. - As near as dammit to a full house hopefully!!!

The best scenario is we just miss out this year, next year get Racon and Westlake in, with Richards possibly another backup Centre Back, we go up through the automatic's or win the playoff and then start Falmer in the Championship, first game vs Palace or Sunderland at home.

How f***ing brilliant would that be

Are you sure that's better than us getting promoted after another successful play off campaign THIS YEAR and signing Racon & Westlake?

Anyway, I can't see Racon being allowed to come here, which is a shame.
