[Albion] Ashworth has ‘major say in [the Albion’s] first team’

In a really good piece by Naylor, the thread title was the main thing I saw. Not just the squad (his role there is called out separately) you note, “team”.

In a separate section, Ashworth is quoted as saying that he and Potter “...don’t always agree...”.

If they don’t agree on the first 11 for a particular game, who has the final say? Someone has to.
Nah.
Here’s the full quote; I’ve emboldened the bit I quoted in the thread title.

“Player recruitment and loans are two of the six areas that fall into Ashworth’s remit at Brighton. He also has a major say in their men’s and women’s first teams, the academy and the medical and sports science department”.
The whole 25 man squad is the first team, that's what he has a say in. Recruitment etc. The manager (or head coach) picks the 18, end of.

Ta. I digress, but does anybody have a view on whether this is worth £5 a month? That's a lot.

Picked it up at £29.99 for the year, gives me something to read on the tube. I would be willing to pay full price next year. Articles are good and varied and you can filter as much as you like

I'm staggered people have enough to time to read all the free football writing online let alone warrant paying for more

Exactly.

Stuff like this is gold dust:

Makes you wonder what Ashworth does all day when a clear club target (or at least an NSC realistic target) effectively flips us the bird by seemingly agreeing to stay at his current club.

This is exactly the sort of player we need and one who could finally silence the moaners on here but once again, the hunter loses it’s prey! Barber out!

If an article would stop me subscribing that would be it. Using word team rather then squad just winds people up. With his contacts it would be a major surprise if he didnt have influence on players coming in to all squads. To indicate he may have say on team selection is a farce

In similar vein, I find my self irritated by Talkshite continually talking about Game day? Whatever happened to match day?
