Sorry about that.
Was it you or someone else who was touting Stuani a couple of years ago when he was at Levante? Handy player and would be a greatcsigning if only the source wasnt just a random non-Albion-specific article. :lolol:

Not me I don't think, in fact I don't remember us being linked with him before (even on here). Mind you, we get linked with the world and his wife every window, so who knows!

My eight-year-old is upset too, he now has to think of another player to have on his new shirt. Still, he got quite Stalinist about it and removed Barnes's picture off his wall before he went to bed

You must be a pretty BAD parent to have raised a child who idolises Ashley Barnes :jester:

The name I've heard, and please understand that this comes complete with a pinch of salt, is this one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Stuani

He's at Espanyol at present, who are financially up shit creek with no paddle and a hole in the canoe. Guillem Balague was talking on Revista de la Liga last week about how anyone with a few quid could basically knock on the door and have their pick. We shall see...

% chance of reality, Frutos?

Really gutted AB is moving on, Burnley is hardly a glamour club and could well fade as the season goes on. For me he has developed, grown up and become one of my fav Albion players. Is there a reason he couldn't have signed for another year?

Nice on Frutos, always like it when we're linked with a foreign player I've never heard of :lolol:

Someone I trust who has nothing whatsoever to gain from lying.

To be absolutely clear, this is by no means in the bag but it is being worked on. The fee itself shouldn't be an issue - as mentioned Espanyol are basically incapable of turning down a sensible offer, so it's a case of personal terms being agreed from what I understand.

Nothing personal but you know what it's like for bulls**t on here at his time of year, Cheers for sharing it and if your right he looks like a good'un but if your wrong expect to have lit matches stuffed inside your toenails.

Would love this to be true, but looks a long shot...

I can think of two:
1. they've offered more money
2. they play two up so, even with Ings and Vokes proving so successful, Barnes really ought to get some game time most games playing up front.

Quite right - it was Cullip4 and HonSec that mentioned him as a target back in 2010 when all the talk was about Gus being after Carlos Bueno. Dont know if either still post on here.

Thanks for correcting me.

Funny though on another thread when talking about Murray going and I casually said his goals won us promotion, I was wrongly corrected by someone saying Barnes scored more goals than Murray.

On the point I was trying to make , despite my misinformation, Barnes had as good a season as Murray for us.

True. Barnes scored more than Murray in the first season in the Championship.

3. He'd get a signing on fee - he didn't ask for a transfer so isn't 5% the going rate? About 40 grand in his sky

4 Better chance of Premier League football

I'd imagine that he'd get quite a bit more money too - you wouldn't move 300 miles for a few hundred quid a week

Still can't believe Barnes is gone. I seriously, thought he'd be around for years, a great, solid team player, who seemed to be settled in the club, and one of those players I thought would be 'happy with his lot' and unlikely to get an 'upper' move.

5. Lunch and coffee is cheaper. (it comes in a Bap or a Mug and you can't get an espresso bit hey-ho)
