The following statement has just been passed on to me by the club:

----------------

Following action taken by members of North Stand Chat and other Albion supporters, Richard Hebberd (Albion's Safety Advisor) has met with the new manager at Brighton Asda.

The petition to the council has been pulled from the store and will not be part of any submission Asda may make to the council. Any submission they do make (if indeed they do make one) will be based purely on technical grounds.

In addition, meetings have been arranged for next week between the transport consultants, Richard and the store manager to overcome any technical concerns Asda may have.

We will keep North Stand Chat updated with the outcome of those meetings. In the meantime the club would like to ask supporters to suspend any proposed actions against Asda.

The actions taken by NSC have directly led to the opening of negotiations between both parties and the withdrawal of the petition; the club is extremely grateful to NSC and its users for this.

----------------

Well Done everybody.

And thanks to all the fans from Donny, York etc who gave us there support.

So now we have pissed of:

Focus DIY ( therefore the Kingfisher Group)

ASDA ( therefore the Wallmart Group)

Kingfisher is one of the largest multinationals in the country and Wallmart one of the largest retail group in the US

We dont do things by half do we?

I do hope Falmer result is a yes, because I bet you Kingfisher and Wallmart will not be too keen on going in with us to build a stadium with retail development with it!!!

Dave - please explain what Focus has to do with Kingfisher...

(And Walmart (one 'L') is not one of the largest retailers in the US - they are the largest retailer in the world - and by a huge margin)

It's actually Wal*mart. One 'L' and one '*' - but that's just being pendantic!!

They're quite good at making profits - when Sam Walton (founder) died they had displays of his autobiography in stores as a 'Special Offer' at 50% more expensive.
