ok. i apologise for the sheer POTENTIAL stupidity of this question, but...

i bought a packaged tuna steak in asda from the shelf. and today im going to cook it. BUT it dosent say HOW to cook the damn thing. i ASSUME i have to fry it or grill it...but it all seems very odd that its just in a packet, not meant to be stored in the fridge, and has no cooking instructions on it.

HELP innit x

Grill it the way you would a steak. Medium heat - four or five minutes each side should be PLENTY. Suggest sprinkling a little dill and lime juice over it before you slam it under the grill.

You can shallow fry it in a smidge of butter (or garlic butter), but I prefer grilling.

lightly oil a frying pan and get it bloody hot ,chuck in the tuna and fry both sides, you can split the steak easily if you want to check its cooked through but if its a nice toasty colour it will be fine.
chuck some sugarsnap peas and cherry tomatoes in the pan and serve with cous-cous

Thick base pan, high heat, little olive oil with lemon & lime, quick fry for min or two on each side depending how seared you want it.
