asda selling new season replica tops, not revealing source - under cutting the man u shop by £15 !!

as they can be made in far east for £7, about time we started
lobbying the BHA, or the local Asda, and other shops,
to do us a deal??

If we all started buying our Brighton replica shirts from Asda for cheaper, then the club would see none of our money... i'd rather pay £40 to the club than £25 to ASDA. However for a rich club like Man Utd, everybody go to ASDA! Hopefully what it will now mean is that the clubs themselves reduce their prices. Then everybody's a winner.

Whats the deal with the skirt looking thing on the bottom on the black Man U shirt in the article? How bizarre..

and secondly I think replica shirts are too expensive considering the club gets hardly anything from it at all....I'll always by my shirt from the club (or through the web site) just feels better IMHO..

besides Man Ure shirts are a dime a dozen....they should be cheap..

It's because all Man U fans live nowhere near the club shop but there are lots of ASDAs in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire etc for the true Man U fans to get there new kit in.

Agree with the general sentiments. I always have a warm glow whenever I buy something from the club shop because I know I've contributed to 'The Cause'.

Having said that, just between us, the stuff on sale in the club shop is largely RUBBISH!!!!! I was there last Saturday trying to buy a present for my nephew who is American (born and bred). I always like to remind him he's half-English by buying him football memorablia, either Albion or England. All I could get him this time was a nylon top (even though his parents think nylon is an appalling material for clothes) and a pencil case. There's not even any baseball caps! Sort it out Perry!

I know what you mean Brovian. Why isn't merchandise done at a league level? More purchasing power, cheaper prices, better quality gear. They do it in the US, they should do so here.

i couldnt give a shit that the tops are £24 , charge the wankers £40!! if there gonna support Man utd .
this is not good news for the albion. kids will buy the shirt as it is cheaper than the albion shirt and end up supporting Man utd, we will lose the supporters of tommrow.

Yeah, come on everyone let's spend time investigating prices.

Take the time you spend going in shops over the course of a few weeks. Add in the time you waste discussing it. Let's call it an hour.

How much is your time worth? £10p/h minimum?

Money saved? A few quid. Great.

Life is too short for penny pinching.

And if you think Albion shirts (few thousand sold per annum) cost the same to manufacture as Man Utd shirts (tens of millions sold around the world) then I'm guessing you don't have an Economics degree.
