And think back to nights out , pubs, town etc Do you find you actually miss it or just miss the thought of it?

I remeber enjoying nights out 17-19 ,20 but really enjoying it all around 21- 25 when your just that bit wiser it's spot on. Now with nights being a lot sparser due to having family etc sometime si think i miss it but when i actually go out i enjoy being with the lads and the pubs but it's never quite the same as it was. Can't stand clubbing naymore either unless it's the Gloucester.

I reckon there are several stages to this depending on exactly how much older you've got.

There's your mid-20's when you start realising that it mightn't be the worst thing in the world to stay in on a Saturday if the alternative is going somewhere guaranteed to be absolutely crap.

Then there's your late 20's/early 30's when, if you've got a family and the going out opportunities are limited, you feel deprived of those really good times while forgetting the times that were absolutely crap!

Then there's your early 40's when, if you aren't careful, you make a complete eejit of yourself trying to recreate what you did back in your youth because you've suddenly got your freedom back - and probably more money to go with it.

And then you reach the sort of stage I'm at (ancient old crone) when you don't miss the sort of goings out and wild times that you aren't really up to any longer but are seriously glad you didn't miss out on them when the time was right!

near on 30 + still like to have at least one big one a fortnight.
Still love it , although nowadays I need to prep it right to save a wasted next day , ie eat before and after , drink shite loadsa water before bed etc. Years ago , nothing touched me and I could do messy 2 o clockers several times a week.

Also with a settled GF nowadays priorities have changed and a decent meal and few bottles of wine is just as good to me.

I don't miss it at all.

I sort of regret it now. All that money and time wasted.

I agree to an extent but wouldn't have missed some of the nights but when you look at the amount of money wasted on the average or crap nights makes you think.

Could have been putting that into property i could blow 6k a year on going out.....
