..always on bloody Cup Final Day.

1965 My Sister got Chicken Pox aged six and had to be taken to duty doctor 1pm

1973 I rode my tricycle down the stairs (well I enjoyed it at first) and had to be taken to RSCH mid afternoon

1980 My Mum had a severe tooth abscess meaning my old man had to take her over to Lewes just before Abide with Me ( she could no longer stand the pain at that point)

1983 I woke up with a rash which my mother insisted I go to the emergency clinic at West Way with..............'it will be on telly' !!!!
Me and my Dad ignored her it died down by Haywards Heath (overexcitement my old man said) but came back about 5.23 pm!!!

2009 Worsening Conjunctivitis and Moderate seasonal Influenza pass me the Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. BLOODY CUP FINAL DAY AGAIN INNIT

I don't remember the last time I had less interest in a big game of football

Back in the 60's it was the biggest game of the year, how things have changed.

I have missed a couple of FA Cup Finals due to complete lack of interest.

Today's will not excite me to watch it any more than the ones I missed, so unless I have little else better to do, I may put my feet up and watch, but I will probably just check on the highlights.

Moyes is an excellent manager, and I respect him for managing consistency and position working with comparatively little at his disposal - but imho Fergie handed him the semi-final result and Everton are dull to watch. I can't stand seeing the lanky afro 'Screech' elbowing players and getting away with it, and they are more industry than footballing flair.

Chelsea are over-rated as an outfit. Their manager was culpable in them losing the Champs semifinal by starting the inept Drogba instead of in-form Anelka. They were also lucky to have go that close to going through. They are arrogant nowadays, and no-one wants to see the haughty overpaid overstuffed twats succeed..... but they probably will today.

On these merits, the whole thing looks like a lose-lose situation.

I was very very disappointed in the way Chelsea played in their semi-final but in retrospect Hiddink got his tactics spot on. We saw the best team in England running around like headless chickens as they were passed off the pitch in the final. Chelsea came within a whisker of beating the best team in Europe by stopping them playing. Their manager did not lose them the semi-final, without a wonderfully shit referee they would probably have won. Drogbha has proved on numerous occasions to be a big game match winner, easy to suggest he shouldn't have been picked with hindsight.

Good call NMH, same here, a sad day when there's no interest in the FA Cup. Didn't help having such shite teams in the finals last year!

It's become just another game now.

*cue old fartiness*

When I were a lad, the FA Cup final was just about THE only live game on the tellybox, unless it was a World Cup year. It was special. An annual event everyone looked forward to. We used to take it turns to watch it at either our neighbours house, or ours. All the build up was great too. After the game, me and our nieghbours son would be straight out into the garden to recreate the winning goal.

Oh, and anyone else used to draw the curtains when it was on?

Used to really love cup final day the whole build up seeing the players arrive at Wembley and all that but it seems since it moved to Cardiff and then back to Wembley it has really suffered, so disappointing. Saying that still the best cup compeittion n the world

Erm, I would say it's crap when we have the same teams in the final year after year. It's good when the underdogs do well, it's those underdogs which we can aspire to. Isn't it the previous unpredictability which made everyone love it so much?

C'mon Everton.
