...I wondered if the person who threw bananas at Doncaster's Darren Moore during the last Goldstone game will be doing so again, and if so, whether he'll be able to purchase his fruit from Tesco at 1997 prices?

???

Who brings bananas to a football match anyway?
At the time it was incredibly embarassing particularly as just 20 mins before, the Donny players had unveiled a

That is the most ridiculous/lame excuse I have ever heard. Even if his 'half-caste' friend did find it funny, does not make it acceptable.

Sorry, but are you saying he expects anyone to believe he just happened to have some bananas on him, which he just happened to think to throw on to the pitch, and they just happened to land alongside a black man as he walked off?

As JtM says, Doncaster's players had just unveiled a banner illustrating their support for our struggle- and I doubt many teams would do that nowadays. To throw anything towards their players that day would have been pretty crap (both players got themselves sent off anyway, it wasn't as though it was Moore's fault any more than Ian Baird's), but to lob bananas??

I was standing a few feet away from where they were thrown, and I was totally embarrassed.

And even if the "half-caste" (your words not mine- word of advice: plenty of people find that term offensive too) friend found it funny, a lot of other people didn't. White people can be offended by racist actions too, you know.

Honestly

Don't think they do.....

In you PC world, how would you politely refer to a person with both white and non white parents then?

Mixed?

In a pile of football shirts
Take a pinch of white man
Wrap him up in black skin
Add a touch of blue blood
And a little bitty bit of red indian boy
Oh like a curly latin kinkies
Oh lordy, lordy, mixed with yellow chinkees, yeah
You know you lump it all together
And you got a recipe for a get along scene
Oh what a beautiful dream
If it could only come true, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got
And keep it stirring for
A hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

Rabbis and the friars
Vishnus and the gurus
We got the beatles or the sun god
Well it really doesnt matter
What religion you choose
And be thankful little mrs. graceful
You know that livin could be tasteful
We should all get together in a lovin machine
I think Ill call up the queen
It s only fair that she knows, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got
And keep it stirring for
A hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

Coffee coloured people
Coffee coloured people
Coffee coloured people by the score

Dont even go there mate. You will have Chesney on here in a minute preaching about what you can and cannot say to people with different colour skin.

Stick with ''mixed race'' or they will drag this thread out for over 100 pages.

or you could just say fcuk em and reply that they are too sensitive.

I stood next to the guy who threw the fruit ( no I did not know him )and I can assure everyone that it was a spontaneous gesture and not a premeditated act of racism.

Good job he never threw that potato he had or their Irish centre forward would have gone balistic.

How about if you weren't in PC World, maybe if you were in Curry's or Dixons. Would that make any difference?
