The main thing is, if its off the pitch, there is another one nearby that can be grabbed, if its the ball on the pitch, that is the one you have to use.
The main thing for me was that Veltman was considered to be about to take the free-kick (I use the word 'considered' carefully!). Whereas no Arsenal player was about to take the throw in - so Pedro wasn't delaying anything. I guess context is also relevant. There was no reason for Pedro to be wasting time, and indeed he wasn't - it was more to do with frustration. Whereas Rice was on the side leading 1-0, and had every reason to waste time.

It's a word. Don't cry over a word.
i’m not crying. Just pointing out that its use as you used it is rather unnecessary and unpleasant . Go ask the views of someone who has been, or knows someone who has been raped and I’m sure they’ll help you understand.

Probably an argument for another thread. But if I said he had been murdered is that equally offensive? Wouldn't wanna upset someone who knows someone that was murdered.

Maybe just use a word that more accurately describes it, such as bullied, schooled, outclassed - as opposed to saying he was sexually assaulted. Or, in your follow-up suggestion, killed!

Capt Black seems confused :lolol:
Thoughts on sending off: "I was amazed. In the first half when the opponents did that they didn't get any booking. He makes the call by law in a non critical area of the pitch when the ball hit the heel when turning around, to make that decision. By law he can do it but be consistent. If that is the case they should have a man sent off and then it is 10 v 10.

"The ball hit his heel"🤣🤣🤣🤣😳
He must have had his foot on backwards.
In the real world, he flicked the ball away with his toe as Veltman was swinging his leg.

Yeah, the way he gave the ball away for the goal was unforgiv....

Oh. :dunce:

I actually thought Jack (a young, relatively inexperienced kid who was up against one of the best players in the league) got better as the game went on. But you'll never see it admit to that because you have such a blind spot when it comes to JH.
He was also left horribly exposed by Mitoma and the CBs…..

He had a horrible game until the sending off. The JH left back experiment needs to end asap. Gets turned on the inside way to easily and could have cost several goals first half and led to Uniteds goal last week.

Come on. Declan Rice was not wasting time. Arsenal were well on top and would have been wanting to score more.

Much better when switched to RB but would like to see him in midfield. Hopefully Pervis/Ferdi means he doesn't have to play there again

Arteta : 🗣️ “We had to play with 10. If we had to play with 10 then they had to play with 10 because it’s a red card for Veltman.”
Rice was silly. His first yellow was an amber anyway.

Wow, I didn't hear that, cheers! What an absolute delusionist Arteta is. There doesn't seem anything likeable about him, I think I prefer Dyche.

Weird game - you’d think without Rice’s brain fart we would have lost but you never know.
"The referee has played a major part in this match."

Lol I’d say Rice kicking a ball away when already on yellow was more major but let’s be honest we’re all amazed the ref still had the guts to do it
