Gods country fortnightly
On reflection this was pretty special, very few away wins against the so called big 6 in the top flight in our history

Prior to this I can only recall Forest in 79 (they were very good back then) and Liverpool 82 (Andy Ritchie winner)

Forest were reigning European Cup holders and we did the league double on them.

Good call.
Now that was really significant, because when we beat them away wasn’t that their first home defeat in over a year?

Without looking it up, think it was first home defeat for about 51 games (think Mansfield had a better record of about 58 undefeated home games). Peter Suddaby, journeyman from Blackpool made his debut and was solid as a rock. Chipped cross by Lawro, knock down by Clarke and stabbed home through the mud by Ryan.

Yes remember it well.
Suddaby was such a shrewd signing.
