No tube strikes so possible to drive to Morden, Richmond, Wimbledon etc and get tube across London.

I'm not used to the underground, which is best to drive to and park to get a tube? From Brighton.

Bought tickets for my brother and his wife and my daughter as a surprise trip (he's over from the USA that week). Seagulls Travel for 4 makes it bloody expensive day out.

You say this as though the scale and frequency of the disruption caused by these strikes doesn't impact normal working people's ability to put food on the table too. People rely on the rail network for work, not just trips to the football.

And let's not forget who is truly stopping a settlement, the people who have final say on any offer, the tory transport minister(s) ( they change every week these days) the same people guaranteeing the franchises lose no money due to these disputes.

Before just automatically assuming that strike workers have some righteous cause, what is the average wage of a train driver, does anyone know?

Port workers at Felixstowe were striking a few weeks ago, rejecting a 7 (yes SEVEN)% pay rise and a one off payment on top of that. All I can say is teachers and nurses would absolutely eat your arm off for that.

Why does everyone go for train drivers out of interest ? What about all the other stuff involved in the railway.

Also nothing stopping teachers & nurses striking … that said I do think with the railways recent history their continual striking is a bit ‘rich’ at the moment

Rmt are striking so affects the signallers , managers will run the signalling panels but only between 7am and 7pm so most trains have to finish by then I’m afraid

This is why I put ‘ALL’ staff. Very lazy just blaming drivers. Many thousands of other staff. Fancy working on a train platform late at night for very little money ? I’m not going to argue the case. I have my views and you have yours. Ps. A 7% increase for port workers is a real world 4% pay decrease.

Teachers will be voting soon on strike action, not sure on nhs staff.

If this game was somewhere like Southampton or Bournemouth where parking is a possibility I think a lot of people might try and drive there. But parking near Arsenal will be near impossible.
When you add in that it's a night game and tickets are only £20 I think there will be a vast amount of people who will swerve it.

I reckon our best hope is that the RMT change the date yet again.

Best option is drive to outer London and park near the end of one of the tube lines. A bit of a pain but a good option for a car load.

Stratford would have been my first choice but West Ham are at home that evening and looking at the RMT details, it may (but I am not sure) cover some overground routes, unless you plan to take the jubilee line first.
