Wouldn’t happen with bottle tops in place...

“A man aged 23 and a boy aged 17 have also been identified in relation to separate incidents, one in which water from a bottle was thrown at other fans...”

Without going into details (although stewards witnessed and intervened anyway), I saw jostling and squaring up in the stands involving youths and something similar involving two blokes about 30 in the concourse.

And of course there was a fracas on the pitch during and after the second half two. All very half-hearted, but unusual in the family friendly Amex. There was definitely something in the air yesterday. Frustrations boiling over maybe.

And over 99% fans should be 99.96%.

I said to my son there’d be trouble after the game, usually cowards punches thrown, in and around Falmer Station. Brighton fans often the perpetrators going by past arrests.

Taking a flare into away end at a match-
1/ Pick a large ground. Not the Amex
2/ Avoid detection on trip to ground. Stay away from Police
3/ Get past security and dogs. Look casual and smile.
4/ Sit in someone else's seat. Everyone does.
5/ Avoid all the cameras. Impossible.
6/ Hope your team score. Pick the Amex, sure to happen.

Can you imagine if we ever got into Europe and played a German side at the Amex, judging by the reaction of one fella with a flare you lot would be pissing your knickers.

Do the Amex stewards know what a flare looks like?

Asking that question would suggest you don't.

Without looking it up how big do you think the flare in question was?

Lively lot weren’t they! Enjoyed their contribution to the atmosphere, was sitting with a bunch on the way back on the train, friendly banter.

They still wear them

I asked one Villa supporter about his dated clothing “Kipper tie?”

He replied “Two sugars plaaaise”
