Argos Catalogues & Phone Books

Spooky ...

At precisely the time this thread was started, there was a delivery of the latest edition of Yellow Pages to Bracknell Towers.

It will join the MOUNTAIN of back copies that have accumulated in the garage, unused, ever since I moved here.

Incidentally ... why is it that paper recycling facilities refuse to take telephone directories and the like?

Many on-street recycling bins take them - in fact the Yellow Pages that came through our door a few days ago went straight into the recyling bin across the street... still in its plastic wrap.

You wait till your Mrs gets the Next On-line catalogue. They are twice the thickness and weight of the Yellow pages, with a hardback cover and they bring out about four editions a year, unbelievable.

As an Argos employee I feel obliged to tell you apparently they're sourced responsibly and recyclable apparently ...

Saga and Sky probably beat both in an annual 'paper off'.

I actually wonder how much time is left for the Yellow pages in paper form surely the increase in the use of the internet could soon leave the need for the big yellow book redundant.
