Health officials on pitch to stop match due to Argentine players not following covid protocol? That's surely a 1st....English premier league players

England currently has some of the highest Covid transmission rates in the world and of one of the deadliest variants……….hard to argue with the health officials tbf
Not sure why football thinks itself above such things

The political fall out from ths will be enormous - and some of the sh...t will fall outside Tottenham's door
Why would Spurs or Villa be in trouble?
As I understand it, the Premier League decreed that no players should travel to red list countries. Spurs and Villa thought better of that.
Brazil no doubt miffed their English based players couldn't travel - found a reason to ban those from Argentina.
It's a total mess - with FIFA also complicit in the dodgy decision making too. Requesting that the UK government act in a different way - which they refused.
The players will have to self isolate on return to the UK. Villa & Spurs must be well pissed at the whole (avoidable) mess
Agreed... But weird this is happening in Brazil, which has the highest covid rates in the world and hasn't really given a shit about stopping transmission since this whole thing started.
