Where I was sitting last night (in my usual seat) I only recognised 1 person who normally sits near me. It led me to think that either season ticket holders decided in their droves that a home tie in the FA Cup (round 1) was not for them, or perhaps they has taken the chance to watch from another vantage point (I would suggest the North Stand as a good choice :) ).

So, just to get a feel for the make up of last night's crowd, let's have a little poll type thingy.

I am not a ST holder but I did attend

I am working Mon-Fri in Edinburgh, so not exactly a practical option - sorry if that makes me a 'bad fan'.

I'm pleased to say, my son, who is also a STH, did attend and took a non-STH friend with him - so perhaps as a family, that makes us 'good fans' again ?

I do not intend to offer opinions as to who are, or are not good fans; as I don't know any of your situations (and that has been done again and again), but it was quite a surprise to see so many people who don't normally go.

For example, there was a group of 6 lads (mid 30s, I'd guess) who said they hadn't seen the Albion play since the Goldstone days. There were also a couple of older guys (late 60s perhaps) sitting behind us who hadn't seen the Albion since 2001 at Withdean, so they kept asking about where the dressing rooms etc were now, as the players came out from a different place!

NOT a STH but haven't missed a game yet, bar the Barnet JPT.
Sat in the South near where my Mum has her ST. She reckoned about half of the seats around her were occupied by their usual occupants.

Some were taken by INTERLOPERS such as 14th Eye and Mendoza.

That would have been a clever ploy... and it was only 1 coach as well, and it wasn't full!

Not a STH, but did go (plus two). The attendance more than vindicated the reduced prices so I hope it's repeated for other unattractive games during the winter months. (Yes I know some of you STHs hate the reduced prices but the sooner you start living in the real world the better).

As a STH, I don't hate the reduced prices, BUT I think it will decimate the renewal take up for next year's season tickets, as everyone will simply wait for the discounts to roll in when crowds fall; which may put the club in a tight corner at the start of next season (unless they reduce the prices of Season tickets in line with the discounted prices).

Not a STH and did attend. Ended up having a quiet day at work, left early, phoned the ticket office at 5:30pm, got straight through, picked up ticket when I got down from London and, despite the weather, enjoyed watching us play some good football (well, for about 2/3 of the game).

I agree I know of one person who didnt renew his ST and just picked his games but is now going to buy the new 12 match package and overall he will have saved money and only missed a couple of low rate games.

Most of the STH around me last night I knew by sight.
