Do the club really want to do anything positive about our league position or are they prepared to just fumble along in the hope of avoiding relegation, and then have a major clear out in the summer by which time a Falmer answer should have been given.

Also a number of older players are out of contract I believe.

dont think I get your point, surely by signing players it shows that they want to do something!

The quality of the signings doesnt suggest that they are over keen to spend to stay up, and are hoping to do it on the cheap knowing the number of players out of contract in the summer.

All of the signings are either loans or until the end of the season and Blaney wanted a longer contract but was refused. What is their reasoning behind this.

IMO today was woeful, and although it's a game of opinions I'm not sure how Cox was given the MOM and some bloke on the radio said Savage. (I would have gone for Lynch)

Ward is clearly no wide player, almost from the first minute he drifted inside. Bertin looked tidy, but no different than we already have, and Bas, well I'm reserving judgment cos on that perfomance he has to improve a lot. What about sticking Elder up there with him?

Jakey needs a rest.

El Adb / Hammond Ok but realyy no creativity.

Pitch - wants watering - very poor.

Crowd - crap

I fear we're on the way down

Agreed, but he did say in his interview he had a free role. I thought in the first half he drifted around finding space superbly, he was always available to receive the ball, and most of the time made good use of it.

Other than another clean sheet, I think Ward was one of the few positives today.

(How the f*** anyone thought COX was MOTM is beyond me).

we've ALLEDGEDLY made offers for every striker in the country - do you really believe this rubbish? £6k a week would cripple the club that is begging new fans to come at £5 a time!

Perhaps if we don't get Falmer and we fold. then we only have short contracts for players to pay up??

I believe it is more a case of looking at the players who are out of contract at the end of the season.

I belive that there will be major clear out and a virtually new team bought in for next season in the manner that MA did when he took over.

I think you might be right there, the fact that we have brought in a couple of players on loan until the end of the season suggests exactly that. There will be a bit of a clear out, we can probably guess which players won't be offered new contracts, there will then be a genuine attempt to sign new players with view to taking the club forward to Falmer.

This was the table we were SUPPOSED to be treading water remember i.e. settling for mid-table mediocrity. The club's been strengthened to help achieve that. Won't be pretty to watch, but another batch of 0-0 with the odd 1-0 to theAlbion thrown in should see us through this season OK.

Whether there'll be anybody much left to come back for more next season tho is quite a different matter. Suspect we won't be challenging for the Championship again for quite some time :(
