...if Adams starts retaining players like Hart and Mayo?

I reckon there is a distinct possibility this may happen.

as somebody pointed out on another thread he may be reconsidering the retained list not those who have been released, which is not so daft?

He is a good manager

Let him have time to settle back in and get on with the job

Christmas time should let us know if this was a mistake

Who made the deicision to release them?

God only knows. I dont know why anything has been said about the possibility of 'reviewing' the situation, it gives false hope and just makes the whole thing sound even more of a farce to be quite honest.

So then you would agree Race, the situation is ridiculous.

I just think the players released are probably asking themselves a lot of 'what ifs' as they all felt they still had something to offer, and the youngsters offered new deals might worried that they might retracted if he is going to reivew it! It's just a strange situation.

It's more than strange - it's bloody stupid.

I'm not going to say OGH, Mayo, Butters etc should be staying, all I am saying is that it's crazy to ask a Manager to do his retained list and then sack him 24 hours later.

If DK was going to getrid of Wilkins, why not do it before he kicks out half the playing squad.

'I reckon'. In other words, my opinion. Not sure why not speaking to him could mean I can't have an opinion.

Of course you can have an opinion. I'm sorry but it was your 'distinct possiblity' that led me to believe you knew something.

I'd be very surprised if he reversed any of the player decisions, particularly Kerry and Harty. Sentiment cannot override ambition.

I am pretty sure that he will only review the retained / new contracts list which may not be good news for the legend that is doug loft????

If there were to be a coaching vacancy it might provide a way back for Tank but I cannot see any way Adams would re-sign players to the squad because that really would make us look daft

So do I, because we will have a LEGEND at the helm.

What concerns me though are two things.

1) How can you sack a MANAGER, and then expect him to take up a job BELOW his old assistant? Will that really be good for morale, should he stay?
2) Why release players (none of which, with the greatest of respect, are going to help a team get promoted out of this league), and then two days later say you might keep some of them? Totally unprofessional and disruptive in my opinion.

Of course, Wilkins might leave and Micky tells all the old players to get lost, in which case it's full steam ahead, but I just have a feeling this will get more confusing before we reap any benefits.

You can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs.
Theres no use crying over spilt milk.
The proof is in the pudding.
It'll all come out in the wash.
Etc.
