I'm a fan of them all.
Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks, Hollies, Yardbirds, Small Faces. They all defined, along with others, the pop musical explosion of the 60's.
Rock and roll was fading, all that was left was Elvis and a lot of crooners.
The Beatles were the first band to actually write music and play it with in a total new unheard of genre. Pop.
Yes in my opinion they kick started popular music as we know it today, but saying they were the greatest, I dont think so.
