Been away for a couple of days so obviously missed something,
Also see any trace of the thread on the missing schoolgirl Tia Sharp has been removed, is this connected?

Sadly this website has gone the way of many before it - humour free, argumentative and sensationalist. I assume this thread is much the same...

Before i say anything else, yes i am aware that something went on with Bozza and the Police yesterday and i am not suggesting for one minuite that anything that could become further problems should be classed as what i am about to say.

However, what is going on with some people on here at the moment??

Yesterday i made an ironic comment that included the words 'Bat for the other side' in it. I have seen FAR worse go unpunished on here in the past. Someone took offense to it and i recieved some sort of infringment points (whatever the fcuk that means!).

In the thread about the Olympic closing ceremony last night, more than one person made joke about Jessie J being a lesbien, some of the comments included 'she licks the other side of the stamp' Explain how that is less naughty than what i said yesterday? It, and the other comments, went un-punished.

Someone has just made a comment in the Dog Lovers thread that they obviously thought was amusing. It really wasnt and they soon apologised. Now unless someone has actually had their dog put in the oven before, surely it shouldnt cause that much offence????? The comment was removed by a Mod after the person that said it apologised. Bad taste in jokes but surely nobody took it seriously enough to piss their pants and report it to a moderator???

Are some people having major sense of humour failures and reporting these type comments, or are the Mods getting power crazy and getting kicks out of controlling other peoples speech??

NO..because your remark was homophobic, tasteless and unnecessary. If what happened to you, can be a reminder to people here that you dont need to make horrid comments about fellow human beings ...great . 1-0 to the decent people here ! Off you go now !

Ok, thank you, will it all become common knowledge as to what happened, of not aloud to talk about it ?

Nope, but jump to page 10. If I'm reading it correctly, that final curtain thread was a prank, and it just coincided with the Tia thread being removed for whatever reason (preparing for sub judice, probably?).

That is my point. This is an internet forum, how can anyone get offended by things on here said by people they dont know? you could come on here and tell me every day that you have fcuked my mother and it wouldnt offend me because i dont know you from adam and they are just words on a screen.

I can understand the whole libel/legal thing that was brought up yesterday, and for Bozza/NSC's sake i totally agree. But comments offending people? Come on!?

Not saying I actually disagree with you, but what you, I, or anyone is offended by is going to be different, which is probably why there are so many forums on t'interweb that've ended up going the way of the brown stuff. If it takes a bit of careful typing or a pause for thought before posting to keep NSC ticking over then I wouldn't have thought it'd be too big a sacrifice?

Just the way it's been going on this board for a few years, notice how I am one of the oldest join dates to contribute yet? Sure theres been some good new ones who have joined but overall it's the new ones dragging this board down. At least one of the prime culprits has posted in this thread already.

I've not been around long (at all) but I think it'd be fair to say that there are regulars on both the new and old side that seem to always end up in some sort of bizarre off-topic arguments. Course, that's not to say it isn't fun to read half the time...

I removed the Tia thread as wasn't aware of the 'joke' so spent many an hour trawling through threads for possible litigious comments as wanted to minimise the threat of the board being closed down.

Being unsure of what the potential cause of the issue I guess the thread could be resurrected, but frankly can't be arsed.

Oh, the joys of being a mod... Not. The joke was on you too then?

Jesus christ, 2008 isn't one of the oldest to join dates on here :lolol:

If you have that much of a problem with me by the way, care to PM me :)

You suggested not using businesses in an area due to people possibly "bat for the other side"-ing. Quite a bit different to commenting on a singers very publicly admitted sexuality.

What are your views on the "she licks the wrong side of the stamp" comment with regards to Jessie J? Or is it ok when it's aimed at a female? How do you know my "bats for the other side" wasn't aimed at lezzers?

Whilst I wouldn't agree with this 100%, I would say that directionally it feels about right. And the main reason why I find myself visiting this NSC less and less these days.
