Nothing to do with avoiding putting sides from one country all in the same group, the way it's been done means that Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkeusen and Werder Bremen could all be in the same group.

Still, it does seem a bit strange that AC Milan aren't in the top seeded group, seeing as they won the trophy the season before last.

By the way, what's the betting that Man Utd get drawn with Panathiniakos, Sparta Prague and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Without labouring the (moot) point, i was thinking that it was a privilege afforded solely to the Spanish and Italians- i wouldnt be suprised with UEFA.

But a tad 'conspiracy-theory' i guess..
