Although my generation was weaned on the Press sisters, Stove, Kratochvilova, Wade, Peters, Whitbread and a host of dubious looking Russians and East Germans, there were still some very attractive sportswomen around. e.g
Ann Packer, Mary Rand ( phworr ) Lillian Board and Sue Barker. I'm sure there were others but memory fades.
Not convinced the girls are looking more beautiful but we need you clever ones out there to post some pics so we can compare.

That Dutch hockey team were fit as f**k. Thanks for reminding me of their super fit exploits at the Olympics. Were indeed a joy to watch
