The way that they were treated by the Football League, and their local council in the 1990s, was an absolute scandal.

They dropped down about 5 divisions, and well, blow me, they are up in the Conference now. 100% record from their first 3 games, and I believe that they are well capable of making it back into the league.

I don't have any real affiliation to the Shots, but I will be glad if they are able to stick two fingers up at the football authorities who tried to drive them out of business.

yep - another example of both how clubs can be ripped apart by administrators and management and how fighting for your club can save it.

yeah, I have this fantasy that sees AFC promoted to the league in the same season Milton Keynes drop into the Conference...

was speking to a Shots fan, when we played them in the cup a few seasons back. they said the best thing that ever happend to the club was getting thrown out the league.
they were struggling for years, started 5 divs lower with sucess after sucess ,they are nearly back in the footy league and getting not bad crowds either.
