I agree ward has been very good. Just a thought wasn't he originally purchased by mick McCarthy as a striker? When I saw him at Yeovil I didn't realize how big he is. I sit in wsu ! I would stick masimenko in at lb and give ward a go up top can't be any worse than our current attacking options?

For someone who is supposed to be talented as an offensive player I am underwhelmed...however he has been solid defensively and links up well with Lua lua...Bridge better player? Of course...but if he was still here would he have made a dramatic difference..doubt it

Didn't not andy naylor suggest Bridge was willing to come to us for less but we didn't even try to sign him?

I think if Gus was still here so would Bridge be. He was a BIG fan of Gus's.

Of course we miss Wayne Bridge - he was the best left back in the division by a country mile (still is, actually, but unfortunately not playing for us any more) and the best left back we've ever had. If ever anyone starts a 'Best Albion XI ever' thread (OK, somebody probably already has) then I don't think there's be many that didn't have WB as left back.

Was a bit underwhemed at the signing of Ward - successive relegations doesn't look good on a CV - but to be fair, he's done OK. Anyway, he's our first choice LB now, so I'll give him my full support, and I'm not going to talk about previous left backs any more (for a while, anyway!)

Bridge was better than all the other players we've signed put together. Not keeping him was a disgrace & a real sign of a lack of intent
