the Tedebear household missed it :( shame as the whole series I thought was excellent... we watched the American Le Mans series and by the time I realized it was over :(

I watched Dead Ringers then Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps then Absolutely Fabulous (which has gone down hill IMO) then some other crap!

Watched an episode of Spooks a few weeks back when they were stuck in that bunker place 'cos London was attacked by gases.....ruined it for me when it was just "a drill" - bollocks to that I wanna see dead people and MP's lying in the gutter outside parliament

I'm afraid I was disappointed with it - the first series was excellent but this last one seemed to be just one set-piece after another. Without the girlfriend situation and all the emotional to-ing and fro-ing there was no 'acting', stuff to really grip you.

Oh well. I can't remember the main fella's name but did you see him in Warriors a few years back? Surprised he hasn't got a higher profile really.

The first series was top notch, managed to 'endure' two episodes this time around and gave up muttering "they've spoiled the format"

I like the programme, although the excellent acting is frequently let down by cheesy lines. One from last night's episode:

"The great moments of pleasure pass so quickly into memory do they not?"

Another cliffhanger end of the series like the first one - would have preferred a clean ending one way or another.

Not as good as the first series, though it obviously floated more than a few people's viewing boats. In a similar way that films have age certificates, perhaps 'Spooks' should come with an IQ certificate and 'FICTION' in large capital letters on the screen before and after the showing. The day after the Birmingham islamic terrorist episode was viewed on BBC1, graffiti was found daubed on the walls of a Birmingham mosque - "terrorists inside" or words to that effect.

Colin Welland made the point recently (on Radio Four) that the great days of British TV drama have gone forever. Writers and actors have turned to film, and some great stuff is being produced. But not in the same quantity, because the risks are so much higher.

The future of TV is gardening, decorating and antiques programmes - and edited highlights of CCTV cameras. And our licence fees are being spent on crumbs from the Sky Sports output (aka "Match of the Day returns")

Yes but Colin Welland's dramas were based on gritty Northern situations which to be honest the only real equivalent these days are "Playing the Game" ( The ladies football team one) " Cutting it" and a few years ago " All quiet on the Preston Front"

The days of Billy Liar and the like are very sadly gone!

Spooks I thought was a very good attempt to be be hard hitting and relevant and not full of gratuitious nudity and swearing
