It seems so recent (yet a lifetime ago), when myself and friends sat around an old TV and watched the Berlin wall coming down. It seemed to be the start of a new era for everyone, the end of the Cold War, blah..blah blah...
The Chilean miners being rescued and being avidly watched, round the clock, and around the world.
There seemed to be as many 'good News' stories as bad, back then.
Since Brexit, Covid, Ukraine/Russia, now this ongoing shitshow in the Middle East, as well as the potential climate catastrophe and global economic problems, it's an avalanche of misery, doom, gloom and very little hope, on a constant and daily basis.
Oh, how I yearn for more pleasant times - not that they were perfect - but the past few years have become relentlessly awful, and there seems no end to it.

It's true. The good news stories will be there but currently being blown away by the size of the horror stories, quite rightly too I suppose.
Do you remember also the rescue of many Russian submariners by a specialist British team, IIRC, ... I wonder if Russians bother to remember 🤷‍♂️.

Someone whom I do not 'know' sent me a really lovely PM, a while ago, which truly warmed the cockles of my heart. See? It's that easy to reach out and be friendly, ffs.
It takes a fool to not realise that and I can't truly believe that there are so many fools out there, and 'if' there are, what do they hope to gain?
Anyway, that person has made my day - how many people's day have you made, today? :)

I think the best way to describe how this thread is going is “well”

Friday is the day that I have my youngest Grandson, he's 3 and I suppose I make his day because he gets away with blue murder, i've never said no to him, he eats what he wants, goes to bed when he wants, and always arrives with a smile on his face. I absolutely adore him.

How lovely, and I hope he looks up to you. :)
