am just wasting my life sat here on the phone to sky listening to shit music. its my second call, the first call resulted in one twat saying he'll transfer me to the correct department. this correct dept was , in fact, the original dept. they then said they would transfer me again which they did and then they cut me off. this took half an hour. apparently its easier to e mail them re the move . well we did and they didnt reply.

has anyone else moved their sky, we have broadband and phone line. is there an easier way to do it? how did you find it

Yeah - we did it and it was pretty easy. The only hitch came when they asked me for 100 quid to move the service across. At which point I told them I would be cancelling the service and start a new one at the new address. The chap on the phone said - now that you have told me that I can sanction doing it for free.

No, I used Bishop's Move, very good and oh so polite!

Seriously though have done this recently all very easy ... although first call took a bit of getting through so went on the new business number (answered quicker) and they transferred me!

Comedian John Richardson has a part of his act on this very subject. It seems that most of the phone operatives will subtly hint this is what you need to do.

This is going back a few years so I don't know if it's still the case or not. I moved house about 6 months into my sky contract. I took sky with me to my new gaff and saw out the end of the 12 month there or so I thought.....

About 3 years later I get a letter from a debt collection agency telling me I owe sky about 150 quid I think. Turns out that because I moved within my first 12 months I had to let sky know by writing that I was doing this. They basically treated the sky account at the place I moved to as a new account meaning I still owed for 6 months at the original place.

Apparently it's all in the small print?!?

If you've been a member for more than 12 months you're probably better off just canceling it and starting up a new account. That way I assume you'll get new hardware as well?

Whats the new business number Tim? I want to change my package dropping some unused channels and taking on the EPSN channel which has taken over from Satander, a family member tried to contact Sky earlier this month to order Sky +,after three long costly attempts to phone them he has given up.
