Do we know for sure they are going there?

Last year, the winter break in Dubai was well-publicised and covered by the club. Not a word this year.

Plus yesterday they were clearly training in the snow at Lancing...

Andy Naylor tweeted last night that it would already be Tuesday for the Albion squad when they found out their FA 4th Round opponents (due to the time zone), so can only assume that they travelled to Dubai early yesterday morning.

Are they claiming it's "warm weather training" again? Obviously it makes sense to practice in 32c when the you'll spend the coming weeks playing in Sheffield in -3c.

If they want a week on the beach, fair enough. The benefit of winning the cup tie is that extra couple of days

They'll likely be in the Jebel Ali Resort then, pretty sure that's where they stayed last time round.

Might pop down there at the weekend for a bit of star spotting! :ROFLMAO:

Could they have flown there straight after training yesterday? There was a big coach in Marcello Quinto's Instagram story.

The club posted photos of the team training at Lancing in the snow, on Instagram, so heading out straight after training is likely.

I don't get it - all EPL clubs complain about the schedule and the effect on players. I know, let's have a winter break and fly the squad half way around the world for training. And that ignores the cost and emissions in doing so. As has already been posted - how does warm weather training help the squad when we're in the coldest season here ?

Guess it's mainly a belated seasonal jolly following the hectic xmas schedule. Tho I guess they'll try and spin it with some sort of sports psychology bolleaux 😀

Spot the term that may draw negative press:

Warm-weather training
Overseas Training camp
High-altitude training
Jolly in the sun
Heat Acclimation Training

Or warm weather training helps muscle strains or prevents muscle strains?
Maybe a sports injury specialist could enlighten us?
