anyone here remember a local band called Frazier chorus?

late 80s and early 90s. They had a bit of chart success with tracks like sloppy heart. Highly underrated IMO the singing style was a semi sung semi whispered style. Sort of like Tricky especially on his Maximquaye album.

Well... I've been listening to another excellent local band: fujiya and miyagi's new album and the similarities as eerie. Very lo-fi downtempo dance tunes that really grow on you.

The lyrics are not to be sniffed at either and hats off for rhyming knickerbocker glory with the ghost of Lena zavaroni.


I'm rambling here, aren't I?

Fujiya and Miyagi have been going for ages. They have some cracking stuff, Shake is a particular favourite.

i HAVE ON 7 INCH vinyl their single cloud 8, and a cracker it is too! Lead singer was the head of their local neighbourhood watch scheme in Hove I believe.

imho 'Sue' is an absolutely flawless album and one of the best purchases I ever made. Can't believe it has been deleted as I'd love to upgrade my cassette version - the ONLY cassette I kept after dispensing with my entire collection.
