As part of expanding NSC to bring together more Albion info (the trial Wiki project is coming along well in the background currently), I thought it would be good to have an online repository of Albion fanzines.

As we enter the brave new world, having easy access to Gulls Eye from the dark years, Scars & Stripes from the Gillingham wilderness years etc can only help both young fans and JCLs alike, appreciate just how lucky we now are.

Does anyone have a big collection? Better still does anyone have a big collection of scans?

Please get in touch if you think you can help in any way.

Bozza - I've got a few S&S scans that I did for TSLR earlier in the season, but only covers. I've got most of the Gulls Eye (the original, not the poor sequel) and most of S&S, plus some Tommy Cook Reports, a couple of Nine Nils, a few On the Up etc.

Good man. Would you believe, when I checked, I only seem to have about half of S&S!

I think I'm missing 2 or 3 of the later ones. Do you want cover scans, or the whole fanzine?

I will dig around in the loft. I'm pretty sure I have virtually all of the Gulls Eye's, less so some of the others.

Whole fanzine. We'll need to agree format and scan quality etc if multiple people are scanning.

...and a scanner? Or an office admin with some spare time?!?

we started doing this.

we'll stop now.

Don't want to step on any toes, so feel free to continue and/or contribute.

would you be interested in a joint venture? we had plans for a significant archive approved by BHACHS and potential museum exhibit one day.

and i've just taken delivery of a beast of a scanner at work ...

Let's take this offline, as people say in meetings when they want to be secretive and that.

We can 'circle back' on this later... is another good one.

I've got a load of old programmes and fanzines in my shed, keep meaning to dig them out anyway so this could be a good excuse (hopefully they haven't been ruined) if you need anything let me know and i will try to help

Update - loft fully searched and no fanzines found. I KNOW I have a bag with virtually all of them in. a rather too full garage will be searched tomorrow. Mrs Giraffe appears nervous and comments like "well I haven't touched them" are not filling with me with much confidence.

I also have a selection of Seaside Saga, On the Up and Gull's Eye I can in.

Before I spend time scanning them in, is it best I list all the issues and you tell me what you need.

I am still in touch with Jackie Monney (now Dinnis), she may still have original computer files for Seaside Saga.

Found a box the other evening with tonnes of fanzines in it. Will look through it tomorrow. I know I have a lot of Tommy Cook Report's in it (on account of the fact I wrote a lot of it), as well as virtually every Gulls Eye from 1990 onwards. I will report back tomorrow.
