Oh so f***ing funny. After all, they were just prostitutes so f*** 'em eh?

Just like the Leeds fans in the 80s when the oh so funny Leeds fans taunted the police with 13-0 when the Yorkshire Ripper was at large.

Sometimes I despair.

"We/they/us/them" still sing those songs.

How lovely for Ipswich that Leeds are the visitors on this particular weekend.

Though, with the greatest respect, I can't see what the minute's silence is for, yes what's happened is sad, but it has nothing to do with football, and lets face it, if Leeds fans don't wreck it, there'll be a lot of surprised people about.

It's just asking for trouble.

One of the last teams you would want visiting when the police force have their attention elsewhere!

I think the silence is important as they were Ipswich girls and the football club represents the town.

Leeds are bound to spoil the silence, the only reason they love being hated is that they wouldn't be talked about otherwise. It is not as if they are a big or special club that stand out from the rest.

*casts line out and....reels in a whopper*
Cue Leeds fans?

:lolol:

PS I see what you're saying, but to be honest, the people of Ipswich are hardly going to be proud of what currently represents their town, are they? It's something that I think they'd probably rather not talk about, sad though it is.

I just think we have too many irrelevant silences at football these days. To my mind, you have them if the deceased is a club servant, someone of local importance, a national hero, a football legend or (grudgingly) a high level member of the royal family.

The most ridiculous one we ever had was for Ken Bigley. I mean, FFS! I'm sure it was all very sad etc, and his family no doubt were devastated, but it had nothing to do with Brighton, nothing to do with football, and I'm afraid to say, he was just another casualty of the Middle East fiasco. We don't have silences for all the dead soldiers though do we, so why Ken Bigley?

No, no, you've got it all wrong, remember? The reason their fans happily strut around the place like utter c*nts wherever they go is because they "don't thrive on self-pity". Very important to remember that...:dunce:

Both clubs offered to postpone the game but the match commander said they have enough officers to deal with both.

They are even reading a prayer out before the silence. This Dianasiation type mourning is ridiculous. Aside from Portman Road being in the red light district I am not sure what these murder have to do with them. If we had a minute silence for everyone murdered or died in the community we'd never get to see a football game.

Much as though I still hope Leeds fans don't ruin it, I find myself agreeing entirely. Some bloke was found dead in a Brighton hostel this week, in all likelihood he drank and drugged himself to that end, but I don't see anyone offering him a few moments' pause at the Albion.

See above (Bigley, Ken)...

no. it's racist. it's making fun of the poverty that so many people must endure simply because they weren't fortunate to be born in hove, actually (needless to point out these people are mostly african - and so black). it shows that 'barrel' is an utter xxxx and the kind of person the universe would do well to be without.

Yes! Dr Jeckyll has gone into his study and taken his steaming green potion...and emerges looking like Warren Aspinall with a hangover.
