Anyone else travelling back to London tonight via trains?

I'll be heading back via E Croydon then to Balham, either via LB (tube) or Clapham (overground)

My mate is getting cold feet about the journey via Croydon and other parts of South London which are appearently gearing up for lots more trouble - I kinda figure we should be ok on the trains, regardless what's happening on the street.

Am I being too flippant? Will we have some strength in numbers?

I reckon we will be ok in the trains. I will be heading for London Bridge and then getting a Boris Bike and peddling like mad to Elephant / Lambeth area, probably giving Elephant a wide berth!

I won't be leaving Brighton station concourse though.

I am. I'd suggest London Bridge then tube to Balham, rather than getting out at Croydon, even if it is a few quid extra?

I'm in Bermondsey, a good 15 minute walk from the station, so think it will be taxi o'clock for me when I get as far as LB...

I got a cheap First capital connect ticket anyway, so think I'm in agreement that L Bridge > Balham is the best route - pretty sure they won't be paying £2.50 to come underground to throw bricks at passing trains!!!
