Not really. Like Coppell and thought they had some decent players in Shorey, Hanenenamanmnnamn, Harper, Doyle and Kitson. Let down by their signings and never replaced Sidwell.

Only because I'm interested to see if their crowds nosedive. Like it or not they are the role model for us over the next few years and I think our route will follow in a very similar pattern to the way Reading's has. Hopefully without choking a few times to get out of League 3, if we're still there when the stadium opens.

You must be the only person outside Reading who has an affection for David Kitson.

It could have been a perfect season if Southampton went down, as it would have meant that Reading, Bournemouth, Gillingham and Southampton all went.

We must have been one of the best Southern Teams in the professional leagues

Brighton - 7th
Porstmouth - 8th and Cup Final
Southampton - Avoided relegation JUST
Reading - Relegated
Gillingham - Relegated
Bournemouth - Relegated

:lolol: Not affection, just think he is a decent player. I actually posted a thread a while back to say what a twat I thought he was.

Yep. They're a bunch of nouveau footy-footy clackerstick waving hotdawg munching twats.
That's one view and part of me does indeed suscribe to it; plus they are 'regional rivals' if not quite local rivals so I think we're entitled to have a bit of a chortle.

On the other hand though I'm slightly disappointed. They are the ideal benchmarch for the club we could become (and we'll need our share of nouveau footy-footy clackerstick waving hotdawg munching twats to fill Falmer). They've got a decent English manager who isn't an egotistical twat, they aren't owned by some foreign gangster and they haven't (as far as I know) 'done a Leeds' and achieved what they have done by spending money they haven't got.

It's a shame a club like them can't survive in the Prem, hence I'm not as happy as I would have been if Southampton had been relegated to our division. I wonder if the new fans will stick with them or go back to supporting Chelsea on TV?

Yep, I was happy. With apologies to some of the Reading fans who post on here who seem like decent chaps/chappettes, I can't stand the bulk of their support. The relentless gloating when they tanked us at their place looks pretty hollow now.

I also remember Alan Pardew's claim that the best team didn't win the League 1 title when we'd beaten them to it by six points, taking four points off them in the process (which would have been six but for Harty's disallowed goal right at the end of the away game). Even one of their own fans admitted on here that they were concerned about their 'increasingly plastic' reputation, can't remember who it was I'm afraid.

Lot of time for Coppell, feel bad for him, but otherwise, nope, delighted they went.

If they are anything like our directors, then probably several members of their board were THRILLED to see Reading back in the Championship, rather than struggling away in the top tier. :nono:

Not for me.

Very infuriating Fulham fan at work, so was hoping they'd go down. I hope Pompey get STUFFED on Saturday after their distinct lack of effort on Sunday
