I don’t think I’ve ever been so pleased with a 3. After 2 goes I was completely stumped, having just 2 letters in the wrong place. I could think of plenty of words containing those letters, but every word I could think of had at least one of those letters in the wrong place. After a lot of thinking time, a word suddenly hit me and I was delighted to see those 5 greens.

Thought I'd check how I was doing on other Wordles

French - 3.58
English - 3.62
German - 4.10
Welsh - 4.21

The fact that I'm doing better on French than English is a reflection of the fact that a) French has a much smaller vocabulary than English and b)when I'm struggling at five goes, I use a crossword solver to give me a hint (it doesn't always work - I have four no scores)

German is horrible - I've twice had four greens after my first guess and crashed out - but they use a lot of common words, I've never had to wonder what a word means.

I think the scores are in line with what I'd expected - it's certainly interesting to see the variations
