That England may well win this competition , I have a felling very similar to when Albion got into the playoffs, my head said not likely but there was a nagging optimism that said yes we will do it.

Is it just we are good or that the other teams are a bot poor? Just need Owen to get a goal then we can well and truly steam roller the opposition.

Our defence could be our downfall - another 2 set pieces !!

Agree though that we have looked possibly THE best attacking team :)

i have to agree with wilko look fantastic going forward and if becks and owen can hit form we could be unstoppable but we look very fragile at the back

:nono: I'd love this to happen. But I'm still not convinced. If we beat Portugal may be I'll start believing!

You obviously didn't see the Czech v Holland game; neither team seemed to know the meaning of the word 'defence'.

I really feel we can make the final but I think we'd struggle against the Czechs if they played like they did on Saturday.

I have no doubt that we can win it-once Owen starts scoring(in his defence he had a hand in 3 goals tonight)and we learn how to defend set pieces we will be unstoppable

Then again, if they play like they did against Latvia. . .

Am always stupidly optimistic when it comes to England (and, er, Spurs) - that is, until the match kicks off, anyway - but am encouraged by the fact we've scored more than any other team, even before Owen catches fire (and he will). . .

Looking encouraging, anyway. . . May even have to stop myself instinctively muttering "Lumpalard" every time the £11m "flop" gets the ball - now that's devotion to the cause!

if we learn how to defend set pieces, (sven will be working on that). and if beckham and owen can find some form. then nobody will stop us. i some sort of defence for owen i do think he has improved with every game.
beckham has gotta stop thinking about his next sponsership deal, and get on with it.
im quite please that scholes has notched it seems to have been a massive weight from his shoulders. his play was much more relaxed after that.
if owen can do the same then i believe we will win the tournament.

If we do win it, all Brighton fans will think they have died and gone to heaven! I've been treating the whole thing as a bonus after Cardiff - but maybe .....

erm, we lacked a defence today, but it was cos we did go for it, much better to watch. portugal did look quite poor v spain, which was supposed to be their best game so far of the 3.

More importantly, it would be a modern day populist suicide for Jon Prescott to deny Brighton a football stadium when the nation is caught up in the ferver following a major tournament win. So, for that reason alone...

COME ON ENGLAND!!!
