Okay so I am trying to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 on my computer. I know, retro game right!?

Anyway my laptop is Windows 7 but it seems to keep on crashing and can't put my finger on the problem, can anyone help at all?

Much appreciated.

Just because technology is better now doesn't mean all old games are going to work.
The majority of games released 10 years ago won't work on Windows 7.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 not opening in Windows 7 x64 - Microsoft Community

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is not listed in the Windows 7 compatibility center and it’s compatibility with Windows 7 is unknown. Also, from the manufacturer’s website it appears that the game is compatible with the following operating systems: Windows® 98/Me/2000/XP.

Follow that link and there are some suggestions that might work.

Right click on game icon > properties > compatibility > tick "run this program in compatibility mode for:" > select '95 - run the game - go through the list of OSs til one works

This is the right answer

As well as the compatibility thing also right click and "Run As Administrator", usually does the trick for my games.

Have you tried switching it off and on again?
