The country, or the gay bar in Brighton?

Meopham, Kent.
I used to go there years ago. Bottom of St. James Street, by the Old Stein isn't it.

The days of Empire are long gone, I believe it's part of Tanzania these days (the "zan" bit actually, the "tan" refers to the mainland part, formerly known as Tanganyika).

i've been, it's beautiful.
flew to stonetown from mombassa, cost about £75 each i think, then a few nights in stonetown, emerson & green's hotel $150 a night expensive, fantastic, then a few more nights up on the north coast of the island place called nungwe i think. fantastic beaches, clear sea and very quiet. highly highly recommended

My brother works as a tour leader in Africa and has been to Zanzibar a few times. Reckons it a lovely place, but don't go walking around Stonetown at night, it's a dodgy place.

Spent 3 weeks there for my honeymoon 2 years ago.

A lot of people use it as a place to chill out after doing the big Safari thing.

You get quite a few Italians there because they have direct flights. For us, we have to make a change. We flew via Nairobi.

Beautiful place and beautiful people. If I recall correctly, we booked through Kuoni.

I'd suggest going for the swimming with the dolphins thing. They're not captive - you just go out to sea and try and find them. And when you do, you basically throw yourself off the boat and swim. A magical experience.

I think theres only a few company's who do holidays to Zanzibar. Kuoni bein gone of them. My girlfriends mates works for them, so a discount could be in the offing. Still gonna be mucho expensivo though!...Sounds and looks top banana though! Certainly top of the possible holiday destination list!
