Hither (sometimes Thither)
I went to their cutters on Thursday and bought some soup and toilet roll. I am mostly an admirer of their samosas, although the 14p rise to 89p upset me and my savings.

I thought I'd been to Kos, but after three days on the island I discovered I was actually on the island of Kalymnos. Doh! To be fair tho, I booked it over the phone and they never mentioned Kalymnos, only Kos. And we did arrive at Kos airport. Remembered thinking at the time that it was a bit odd that they took us straight to a ferry in the middle of the night. Assumed it was just a short cut to the resort.

So.. watch out for these 'allocated on arrival' deals that say 'Kos/Kalymos'. You're likely to be allocated to Kalymnos like I was - cos it's much less popular than, er, Kos. Mainly cos it's a bit of a dump. Kos, on the other hand, is supposed to be nice.

Any of that make sense? :nono:

Went to Kos town a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. I spent 6 days in kos town drinking and chatting up swedes, germans etc, then spent one night in kardemena watching british beer boys fight and pasty faced english girls throwing up.

What I saw of Kardemena was the hideous brit resort that makes me embarrased - english pubs serving fish and chips while the brits can sit back and watch only fools and horses or eastenders.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Kos old town is really nice, excellent beaches to the north of there, a world away from Kardemena, which to be fair is not actually that big, or bad.

Up in the hills is really nice too, hire a scooter and get around, lots to see and do and the obligitory boat trip to Turkey is quite enjoyable too.

No, but I used to look forward to his occasionally poetic ramblings and hard rock nostalgia on here...

I was in Kos when we lost 2-1 to France in Euro 2004.

Pleasant enough place. You can go on a day trip to Bodrum, Turkey if you wish.

Two great weeks in Kardemenia, its small a couple of clubs loads of bars but has a friendly feel, you get to know the crowd quickly, watch out for the heat and the very windy beach, which means the sand sticks to your sun tan oil!!

Kos town is meant to be really nice, one of the Crusades towns!

Went to Kos Town four or five years ago.

Had a really good time. As others have said, it's quite chilled out and pretty but there's still plenty to do. Also hired bikes and cycled a bit and went to Bodrum for the day.

Stayed at the Hotel Calypso, which was excellent.
