Anybody Else Going To Goodwood This Week?

Some days you just stick in the calendar every year without even thinking about it & everything else has to worked in around them. The Tuesday at Royal Ascot. Plumpton on Easter Saturday. And... Sussex Stakes Day at Glorious Goodwood on the last Wednesday in July. Or 'tomorrow' as we experts call it. Saw Sir Alex Ferguson's Rock Of Gibraltar piss on the opposition from a great height last year, for which we all breathed a great sigh of relief and cheered long & loud because - hey! - he really needs the dosh eh?

This year, the winner looks to be KALAMAN at a decent price, and the banker iof the day has got to be ZUHAIR in the last race, cos, well, the Nicholls-trained nag has won the same cavalry charge for FOUR YEARS RUNNING and has now even had the bloomin' race named in it's honour. Looks no less likely to win this year than it has in previous years.

Nope but I've been given a tip for the Wednesday meeting from the owner of the horse. It's won it's last two and is flying since an operation earlier in the year. When I remember what the name is I'll tell you!!!!!

I prefer things at Goodwood with rubber tyres on 4 corners, not half metal shoes on four long legs myself...

I've heard its a lovely day out though......

Just as an odd question btw if you don't mind... I've never been much into horseracing.....do you do it for the thrill of the win of money or the beauty of the animals or a combination?? Because I do think they are magnificent animals just never understood the betting part myself....
