Does Jay realise that for his salary he will have to cover at least four positions and play on a pitch that does not rate as high as the Gunners training facilities.
Why would the lague one player of the season last year, want to come and play in our joke of a stadium, and train at our dire training facilities? I would welcome him with open arms, but i really cannot see it happening.
With Jay Simpson, the only way I can really see him fitting into the team is to replace Cox or play up front when Forster isnt playing. We have plenty of smallish strikers to play off Murray - admittedly not many/any of League 1 quality Forster aside. I wonder if it would be better to get a taller, target man in since MA seems reluctant to throw Virgs up top. Dont get me wrong I think he could be a good signing but only at the expense of Cox who can be equally effective on his day.
Thought he looked a lot better when he came on up front for Ipswich in the friendly than he did when he played for us. Still a better bet than Robinson or any of our back up players.
I remember when Brady took up that role at Arsenal and there was all this talk that we were going to be the first port of call for all Arsenals promising youngsters and who have we seen here......... No one!
We need to get in a young creative player who is unpredictable, a young Paulo Wanchope maybe, so that he cant actually rival our front two as such but can be thrown on to mix it up a bit.
Not holding my breath on Brady sending us a decent player. The only genuinely good Arsenal player we've had since since he went there has been Sidwell and that was due to Coppell's connections rather than Brady.
Brady has been a disappointment to me as I'm sure he could have helped us out over the years if he cared as much about the Albion as he made out he did when he left here. Too much blarney stone not enough action. He was also allegedly responsible for conning Knight and getting McGhee overiden re a certain Argentinian who was undoubtably the worst signing we have ever made...£150k con
