So you suggested shopping in an identikit shopping centre in a depressing identikit new town. This isn't Berkshire or Surrey we're talking about, it's God's own country.

0/10 Doug.

So have you been to Tillgate?

Yes and it's not a patch on Woods Mill. You still said Crawley and shopping first off though. You're not getting away with it that easy.

Read the original post. He said sodding shopping, I was trying to help, as usual.

PS. Do they have animals at Wood's Mill?

Not sodding quite. He said:

something mid size with a few interesting shops or something different.

Now what part of interesting or different does an identikit, grotsville, new town like Crawley come under?

West Sussex? Crap?

For every Crawley you lot have got a Hailsham or Polegate. Shall we mention how depressing it is to get off at Bexhill Station? Let's talk about St Leonards Warrior Square, shall we?

Uncle S, don't go to the big towns in West Sussex - explore it's villages. Get your bike, get on the train and get off at Goring by Sea and cycle round Ferring, East Preston, Angmering and along the coast there. Go to Findon Village and have a pint in the Gun Inn, with all the race jockey memorabilia on the walls, and then walk up my favourite bit of Sussex: Cissbury Ring and admire the views of God's own country.

Go driving through Pulborough, West Chiltington and Thakeham. Billingshurst is lovely too.

Get on your bike and discover forgotten and disused railway line cycle routes near Horsham. There's a corking little war museum near Horsham too.

It's the little, quirky parts of Sussex that are the bits worth seeing.

West Sussex? Crap? Not on your nelly.

WEST WEST WEST SUSSEX!

 Thank you, sense at last, I was starting to think that no one from the golden west came on here.

All largish towns in West Sussex have identikit shopping centres. Now if he'd asked for decent East Sussex towns, that would be different.

Well I think EAST Sussex is better at least the people who live in it, along the coast. When I go west on the train out of Brighton the people look like they're really in a nightmare life. The West Coastway trains are a nightmare to police I believe.

Try not to judge a whole county by the people on trains. ???

Midhurst ?

You are not serious are you? Everybody in Midhurst appears to be a relation of one of 3 big families. There isnt a decent pub in the town the best one is now a pizza place and it is full of 'kids' with too much money coz daddy has given them it as they are not wanted at home while mummy and daddy are entertaining, hence it is a druggies paradise.

Yes I think it must be twinned with Rock in Cornwall. A yuppie paradise, anyone with a rucksack and hiking boots gets the "Werewolf in London" treatment in pubs there.:annoyed:

Cut your losses and take your NBC suit to Croydon if you want to shop.
