I'd second the Nippon recommendation, works a treat. They hate copper too by the way.
They don't like Bakesy's plumbing blowlamp either........:lolol:

I'd say you're probably putting it in the wrong place then !!

I put in down the ants nest by the workshop door....next morning there were a few crispy frogs around the nest, I then went into the house to get a plastic bag to put them in and got sidetracked I returned to see a seagull having lunch - its probably dead by now too, so then in my haste to get rid of it I swept it all up and threw it down the drain...I'm sure its now out at sea killing giant turtles and all manner of sea life....:(

Concern is growing in Mexico over the unexplained deaths of at least 16 grey whales off the country's north west coast. Hundreds more have not arrived at the expected end of their migration path.

The whales travel over 6,000 miles from the Arctic to breed between December and March in warm water lagoons off the Mexican state of Baja California Sur.

Homero Aridjis, president of the Group of a Hundred, an environmental protection group, said there were normally between 300 and 400 whales in one of the lagoons, San Ignacio, at this time of year.

But now, he said, there were only 168 adults and 16 calves.

Mr Aridjis said fewer whales had arrived from the Arctic, and 20 had died since January.

"Something has disturbed the migratory cycle of the whales. We have to investigate."

I had a load on my patio last night - again did two kettles of boiling water, marvellous. Flying ones and regular ones.

Also got loads of those maybug things flying around. When they fly past they sound like Luke Skywalkers lightsabre.

It will die down naturally in the next couple of weeks. It is July when the queen ant flees the nest and they fly to start a new nest complete with males.

There's always ONE day in the year, Ant Day, when they all seem to spontaneously leave the nest, flying. Just after they came out yesterday, about 16:45, I phoned my mate in another part of the village, who commented on the ants, and that they'd appeared at the same time. All died down about half an hour later.

Ant Day.
