Will be in the history books as our best ever loanee by the end of the season (sorry Wayne). Still amazed he came here tbh.
Wonder if there's even a recall clause at all.......Reports that Gavi has sustained a serious long term injury at Barca. Isn't he the lad that was keeping Fati out of the team?
Wonder if they might try to recall Fati in January?
The loan is until 30 June 2024 so there’s unlikely to be a recall.Reports that Gavi has sustained a serious long term injury at Barca. Isn't he the lad that was keeping Fati out of the team?

I'm not aware of a recall clause. It was definitely presented as a 'season-long loan' but who knows what was in the small print.Wonder if there's even a recall clause at all.......
Yep, season-long loan and wages agreed (any early release would have to be under a new agreement by both sides)I'm not aware of a recall clause. It was definitely presented as a 'season-long loan'.

They’re very different players and play in different positions so not linked.Reports that Gavi has sustained a serious long term injury at Barca. Isn't he the lad that was keeping Fati out of the team?

No, we don’t need the money.Didn't we recall Mac Allister early in exchange for a fee? Maybe we can let Barca can recall him early in exchange for, let's say, £20 million in compensation?
And they don’t have any eitherNo, we don’t need the money.
Apologies, someone a few posts above has pointed out that I am getting Gavi confused with Yamal their other 'wonderkid'.Gavi is a centre mid. Barca recalling Fati to replace him would be like us recalling Jensen Weir to replace Fati. Not happening.

Lovely snippet from Ornstein
Yes, that is exactly what I was saying - the loan contract would have to be effectively ‘frustrated’ and a whole new contract agreed (an Agreement is a contract!) - it couldn’t be done as an amendment or add on to the existing contract - there was no call back clause included.Any recall clause has to be included in the original loan agreement, it cannot be added retrospectively in January. Obviously the recall can only take place during a transfer window.
Again, exactly what I have said in a previous postI doubt we agreed to a recall clause if we are covering a majority of his wages. Besides which they needed him off the payroll for the season so they could register other players, that doesn’t change in January even if they have injuries because they can de-register an injured player that easily.
Again what I said in my post above - the agreement is to pay wages for the seasonThere is an option that Barca could cancel the loan but that would require agreements from all 3 parties and I can’t see us agreeing to cancelling the loan mid season
I wasn’t worried - it was other posters that were going on about him being recalled - it was a clumsy attempt at putting people’s mind at rest.So in short I really don’t think we’ve got much to worry about Barca recalling Fati in January
