What religion is Ivory Coast?

One of each, I think... The only Ivoirean I ever met was an ultra-conservative Catholic.

63 per cent "traditional" religion, whatever that is :)

I've never understood why the non-Christian or non-Islamic belief systems of much of Africa automatically get branded with the label "religion".

It's almost as if there is an irresistable urge on the part of western (or, indeed, Arab) cultures to assume that people in traditional African societies MUST believe in some sort of god or gods.

Why?

Thanks I had a look. Seems like they practice their own religions, some of which are linked to Islam and Christianity. Islam is more popular than Christianity as well in the country.

Oceanic, you are a fine one to talk about intolerance. Get a life you sad paranoid nazi idiot. Coward.

Nice one Oceanic.

It's a good job nobody's ever committed any horrific deeds in the name of Christianity, isn't it, or you'd look REALLY stupid.

:nono: :dunce:

Let's all be thankful that no Christians have ever slaughtered other people in the name of God, or forced people in the so called "third world" to adopt their church, tried to "civilise" them by enslaving them and taking them thousands of miles away from their homes. Thank God no Christian priests have EVER committed appalling abuse against children in their care. Praise the Lord that people from different branches of Christianity never bombed each other, especially not in Northern Ireland. And show your gratitude that Christians have never committed crimes against others under the guise of the Inquisition, no.

No, Christians are ALL, UNFAILINGLY good, hard working, decent, civilised people. Not like these Islamists who are ALL, UNFAILINGLY bent on hatred and destruction...

You spanner.

I seem to remember "Joey" being the insult of choice when I was at school (as in "Joey Deacon"). If someone had done something especially dumb, then it was said with the accompanying hand gestures etc.

God, teachers can be cruel sometimes...

At the end of the day religion is the biggest evil in the world and always has been. It does not matter if you are Christian, Catholic, Muslim or Jew. Each religion has got its extremists in the same way each country has got its Armies. It just so happens that the muslims are the most active at present.
