Thomas Tuchel left Mainz 05 yesterday with a year left to run on his contract.

Young, promising, touted for big things...

Is it a coincidence?

Fun :clap2:

RTL: Remi Garde decides to quit Lyon for the following reasons: 1) Annoyed by transfer situation 2) Not confident about the medium-term

He won't be coming here then.

Get him in. Just for a year, obviously, we're not stupid.

Could we wait until after the World Cup though?

That would be a disaster, last close season was a lesson in how not to prepare for a tilt at promotion.

Interesting - the firm smack of a bit of deutche discipline, pace, skill and physicality wouldn't go amiss in my view.

You chaps are more likely to know than most round these parts......

Was Oscar as much the "only" genuine contender last time once talks had convened as TB made out subsequently?

Left-field choice for sure, but stranger things have happened

Is it though? He is known over here and Frieburg supporters speak highly of his work as reserve coach and working with a young team. I understand the first thing the German Cameroon manager did upon getting his job was install The Tank as his assistant. He played in the Champions League for Dortmund as well. We have a seemingly well connected German doctor..... I think a better description is "under the radar" ?

Having a manager called The Tank sends out a clear message.

How about Nortei Nortey (ex Chelsea?)

We need that Hitzlberg bloke as well. The Tank and The Hammer! Get out of our way, we're coming through!
