I can never understand why clubs sack a manager and then put his assistant in charge even for a short while.

If I was a chairman, many would say thank God you arent, but if I sacked the manager I would also sack the man who has helped him to make the team not good enough.

This is akin to Wilkins going and leaving White or Chapman in charge who have failed with the manager in the past.

Agreed. Same applies to the International positions too. McCLAREN OUT!!!

That's exactly what happened when McGhee was sacked because Wilkins was moved to assistant manager leaving Bob Booker in no mans land.
